White-eared Hummingbird (Basilinna leucotis, formerly also Hylocharis leucotis) ranges from northern Mexico to northern Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua). In Guatemala, it is common throughout the highlands, living in various habitats including forests, scrub, agricultural and urban areas.
