Rivoli's Hummingbird (Eugenes fulgens) was for some decades considered conspecific with Talamanca Hummingbird / Admirable Hummingbird (Eugens spectabilis) of the Costa Rican-Panamanian highlands under the name Magnificent Hummingbird. Rivoli's Hummingbird occurs from the south-western United States to northern Central America (Guatemala to western Nicaragua).
