Cabanis's Seedeater Amaurospiza concolor

Female Cabanis's Seedeater
One-colored simplicity: Cabanis's Seedeater (Amaurospiza concolor) is a bamboo specialist, widespread from southern Mexico to Panama. It is nowhere common, thus it calls for birders' special attention even with its rather unspectacular appearance. This female was seen in the highlands of Guatemala.
