The following list includes bird species which occur exclusively in one zoogeographic subregion (after Stotz et al. 1996). Guatemala covers partially the following subregions: Yucatan (northern lowland), Central American Highlands, Chiapas-Guanacaste (Pacific lowland), Southern Central America (eastern lowland). Nomenclature of this list according to AOU (1998).
